Notes for Pierre Aymond:
Pierre filed a land claim for property at Long Prairie in
Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. "Biographical & Historical Memoirs
of Northeast, Louisiana"; Southern Publishing Co.; Nashville,
Tenn.; (1890); p. 606. Pierre served with his 2 brothers,
Michel and Etienne in the 17th, 18th & 19th Consolidated
Regiment of the Louisiana Militia in the Battle of New Orleans,
during the War of 1812. "Rapides Parish Pensioners in the War
of 1812"; at p. 2. Pierre was a slave owner, according to the
1820 Census.
Pierre's son Jean was born in 1822, so he and Eloise were
probably married in a civil ceremony before that time. Eloise
married her first husband, Claude Recouly, on September 2, 1806.
Claude later died. See: "Early Marriage Records of St. Paul the
Apostle Catholic Church; 1806-1830; " Edited by Alberta Rousseau
Ducote, G.R.S. This marriage record identifies their and the
fact that their eldest son, Jean, was already born by that time.
