We will here remark that several of the old families of Middleburgh,Schoharie and Wright were connected by marriage with the Weidmans avery old and substantial family, from a place called Berneswitzer inGermany and who settled in Berne, Albany county and gave the name oftheir paternal home to the settlement. Many of the families of thistown, removed from Beaver Dam, once a very prominent settlement ofthat town.
