[93402] he was a representative for Suffolk Co. in Legislatures of 1691, 1692,and From 1694 to 1706. He distinguished himself for his independence andwas expelled from the legislature by the Governor April 17 1701, butrestored again by the people. His massive gravestone bearing the Howellfamily arms still stands in the old Southampton grave yard.
